Staff Writer, Sep 16, 2008
A 63 year old man in Longmont, Colorado was arrested for second-degree assault with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of an accident, after hitting a construction worker three times with his car. In late August, a construction worker was closing Duchess Drive when a man tried to drive through anyways. When the construction worker inform the 63 year old driver that the road was closed and would not allow him to pass through, the driver accelerated the car forward and hit the construction worker. Then, the driver backed up and hit the construction worker for a second time. After that, the driver drove off, side-swiping the construction worker while in the process. When the driver was confronted, he claimed the construction worker was insulting him and he hit the worker out of rage. The driver’s wife claims his Bipolar disorder could have been the reason for the incident.
