Virginia Saves Money and Hassle

July 14, 2009

In May, the state of Virginia debuted its latest method of saving money for the state and for its residents. The Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission has moved its claims filing process to the Web.

Using this new system, an individual can review his or her claim history, submit online claim forms and requests for hearings, as well as submit reports of injury. He or she may also be able to review a portfolio of claims and upload relevant documents, including the employer application for hearing form.

This program was designed to create a standard for transmitting information, and provide claim administrators with a more efficient, accurate, and reliable way to manage their claims. It also saves money for insurers and claimants by eliminating the amount of paperwork that has to be filed for proof of coverage.
